In the back of my head, I always knew this day would come. It really is kind of sick how I predicted this considering I was a poster child for safe sex. But, apparently, it can happen to anyone. It has been about 3 weeks since my diagnosis and I am actually calm about the situation. Maybe it has not hit me entirely just yet. Since I am not working, and my backup job (the Olive Garden) is secretly not scheduling me, I have to take the free route with all of this. I am without insurance and job, so there is no other choice. Luckily there is a pretty amazing center here in Phoenix that offers a variety of services. I am hopefully going to be qualifying for free treatment. But as we all know, when something is free, you'd better get in line. And, that is exactly what I did. But after 3 weeks of waiting, thanks to my amazing mom, she took me to an HIV specialist where all my exams and about 15 labs were taken. Now, just 2 more weeks for all the reslults! From all these tests, the T cell counts are what most matter. This lab will determine if I need to take medications right now. No matter what, in my lifetime, I will have to take meds, but the longer it takes for that to happen, obviously the better. Currently, I am on a very limited diet of 4 items. It is horrible, but I am sticking to the orders. A lot of changes are coming my way this May including a whole new lifestyle, diet and way of thinking. No need to bore with the rest of the details as they are not necessary. I will try and blog as much as I can and will definately blog once I have all my results. Thanks for reading...
