Dave in the Suburbs........

It's funny, cause when I got here, I had a plan, a vision and I was so ready to make it happen. But I was totally wrong. I think I always knew in the back of my head that things were not going to work out the way I was hoping they would, but that's another lesson learned.

Now, what to do.. I am in a city that is great but that I held to a level of expectation, and I am not sure if that expectation is being met. It's like starting all over again. I need to fall in love with Chicago again. It's going to take some time and a bit of effort on my part.

Luckily, when things go sour, things also turn up pretty quick. I've accepted a great job offer with amazing opportunities and have also decided to make Northbrook home. Yea, the burbs will be home. I just feel so much more comfortable here without the stress of the city. And, whenever I want to get my fix of downtown, all I have to do is get in my car and drive a few miles. Everything is going to fall into place.

I have an array of amazing friends who each bring something special to the table. They are all very different from each other, but I need them in my life. And I am not only talking about my friends here.....I mean my friends everywhere.

So, tomorrow is my first day of WORK! It's been so long, I am not sure how I am going to handle it. It's going to be tough, but I know I can do it. It's been a really long weekend. I am ready for a fresh start tomorrow.
